Our History
Founded in 2003 by Jody Zaruba, Zarlec Inc began as a one-man operation in a shop in Sealy, TX. Zarlec was founded to provide a comprehensive solution that bridges the gap between simple short lead-time assembled electrical products typically purchased from customer bills of materials (BOMs) through distribution and complex long lead-time Engineered to Order (ETO) equipment purchased through burdensome request for quote (RFQ) processes.
In 2022, to accommodate the company’s growth and success, the company transitioned to a larger facility in Houston, TX. In 2025, additional growth led to a new facility that doubled the space from 8,000 sq-ft to over 17,000 sq-ft, with more than 20 employees in Brookshire, TX.
Zarlec is a licensed engineering firm registered in the State of Texas, bringing decades of facility & electrical power, control and automation system design experience to meet customer product needs.

CEO & Founder
Jody Zaruba is a distinguished leader in the electrical engineering sector, with over 35 years of extensive experience spanning multiple roles. As a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas, his technical acumen and commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology have been instrumental in driving Zarlec Inc. to the forefront of the industry.
A graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Jody’s expertise is rooted in project management, project engineering, electrical facility power system & control design particularly in the Industrial, Oil & Gas, Marine, Solar, and Telecommunications industries. He is renowned for his mastery of complex regulatory frameworks including NEC, API, ABS, USCG and various international standards, aligning all processes with ISO 9001:2015 requirements to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

Zach Zaruba, B.S.
Director of Operations
Zach Zaruba, a dynamic leader in the engineering and manufacturing sector, combines his comprehensive background in mechanical engineering with his role as Director of Operations at Zarlec Inc. A graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering, Zach is known for his hands-on operational skills and his seamless integration of technical expertise to optimize manufacturing processes.
With an industry focus that includes CNC systems, mechanical design, and shop fabrication, Zach has been instrumental in revolutionizing operations at Zarlec. He oversees the divisions of engineering and design, 3PL, administration, fabrication, quality, and service. His approach to operations combines CNC programming, CAD software proficiency, and industrial control panel testing with an eclectic method that includes incorporating ePlan at the design level, procuring automation and specialized software systems for precision and efficiency, and coordinating projects from concept to product delivery.

Chief Financial Officer
Jeff Zaruba brings over 35 years of dedicated experience in financial management and consulting to his role as Chief Financial Officer at Zarlec Inc. A Certified Public Accountant, Jeff graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.B.A. in Accounting.
At Zarlec, Jeff applies his profound depth of expertise in financial management systems and consulting. He is particularly noted for designing and implementing robust management systems and spearheading advanced financial reporting standards that enhance corporate transparency and operational efficiency. Jeff’s extensive knowledge of retirement plans and property taxes also adds significant value to his consultancy, helping clients and partners exceed industry-leading standards for financial compliance and performance.
